My Book Club almost read In the Garden of Beasts - we loved Devil in the White City - right now we're reading Jennifer Egan's A Visit From The Goon Squad. Thanks for sharing all! - EB

I just got through reading Room by Emma Donoghue and The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Next is Either Hick by Andrea Portes or The Perks of Being a Wall Flower by Stephen Chbosky. I'm so indecisive...

I'm about halfway through with We Need to Talk About Kevin. Deliciously disturbing.

@Sam. Fall of Giants was really good. I, too, am eagerly awaiting Book II. Also liked Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.

@EB. Finished "In the Garden..." didn't really care for it. I haven't read "Devil in the White City" but I'llgive it a go. Liked Larsen's "Isaac's Storm" but "the Garden" disappointed in its delivery. Very choppy, unemotional, no "story telling", more like a compendium of facts and quotes and very disjointed, at that. I forced myself to finish it, much as one would finish an ice cream sundae even while feeling sick, because the last time you had one it was enjoyable. This time, not so much.

Emma by Jane Austen. I feel like I am a lot like Mr. Knightly.
