I just read this book, and I highly recommend it! What I loved is that if you're the sort of person who likes to think metaphorically, you can find plenty of symbolism in the story, but it's also a great story if you prefer to just take it at face value (kind of hard to explain, but you'll understand when you read it).

And I'm always a fan of reading a book before seeing the movie for it— it gives you so much more perspective! :)
