I am of the generation that taped music off the radio onto cassette tapes and then spent hours arranging mix tapes with my favorite music. Also, I wanted boys to give me mix tapes. SO BAD!
All of that is done with finger swipes and thumb clicks nowadays, but this is a little celebration of cassette culture that I really love.
Enjoy!
And thank you Ithaca Audio! You can download the MP3 of “The Mixtape” on Ithaca Audio’s Facebook page.
Do you remember mix tapes? Like, really TAPES?

I still make mixes, but now they are mix CDs for my car. I'm missing about 15 years from 1995 through 2009. But my daughter got me back into listening to new music so I jump from 'The Gin Blossoms' to 'Beyonce'. Wish I had a nice gal to make mixes for... -
I'd hit record just a little too late! (Just 'A':)
Jamil previous statement ..
Enjoy!
! Elizabeth really! Really!! !!
I think this is a waste and loss and killing time -
Do you remember that song that was a reporter talking and the spliced parts of songs throughout the interview? That is what I we did as kids. We would record songs of the radio, then mix them into "interviews". Wonder what happened to those..? -
I remember getting so frustrated when after waiting all night to tape a song off the radio, I'd hit record just a little too late! I have no clue how many hours went into those "masterpieces" :) -
Ahhhh, yes!!! I made a few mixed tapes in my life. I actually still have a tape player kickin around the house for 'ol time sakes =) -
How many good memories! How many hours spent recording and mixing songs: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bee Jees, Donovan, Joan Baez .... I have an old Philips recorder 60s, with recordings of songs of the time, and I got the urge to enjoy again. Thank you for reminding me that time!
