Like so many of you, Jason from Team Elizabeth is a Pitch Perfect fan. He wanted to share some great projects by some of the Pitch Perfect cast and crew that you may not have seen/heard. Love it! Take it away, Jason… Xx EB

If you saw Pitch Perfect and aren’t familiar with the writer, director, or some of the actors, let me offer you some opportunities to keep the comedy magic going! As you might expect, this ain’t nobody’s first time at the laugh factory. Here are a few projects that the creative team have each worked on, that any P.P. fan might eat up faster than you can say “Fat Amy.”
1. Actress Anna Kendrick:

“That girl from Up in the Air can sing?” Yes! Before she was the girl from Twilight or anything else on the big screen, she was a preteen Tony nominee for her work on Broadway in the musical High Society. A few years later she starred in the indie film, Camp, where she also flexed her musical muscles, and proved that sociopathic, spotlight-stealing girls can come in small packages.
2. Actor Skylar Astin:

Another Broadway baby, he played Georg in Spring Awakening, and has gone on to guest star in TV shows like House and Girls. I imagine it’s pretty rad to work with Lena Dunham, but to knock Rosie O’Donnell’s knickers off? Priceless (“The View” in 2007: http://youtu.be/vsR3te9wJKE). You can’t step back in time to see him do his sexually angst-ridden thing on the stage, but he’s on the Spring Awakening original cast soundtrack, so you can live the dream every night!
3. Writer Kay Cannon:

Although some folks say that pretty and funny don’t mix when it comes to the ladies, Cannon is both easy on the eyes and on the funny bone. As a 30 Rock staff writer, Cannon’s churned out some of the series’ most classic episodes. If you’ve never gotten into the Tiny Fey comedy, no time like the present. Get yourself the “flu,” and spend a week on the couch Netflixing the hell outta this thing. Even if you’re already indoctrinated, take another look at one of my personal favorites, “Jackie Jormp-Jomp,” co-written by Cannon and Tracey Wigfield.
4. Director Jason Moore:
The guy behind the camera has a theater pedigree that includes Les Miserables and Shrek the Musical, but he got a Tony nomination for directing Avenue Q, a puppet-filled anti-musical about the reality of life after college. With songs like “If You Were Gay” and “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist,” the show also says a lot of clever things about the reality of navigating a p.c. world. If you can’t get to NYC to see it, it’s still worth checking out the soundtrack just to let the witty songs mingle with the guilty pleasures stored in your iTunes library. Here’s a taste, from the 2004 Tony Awards:
Have you seen/heard any of these projects?

I saw Pitch Perfect last night and I thought it was delightful. Lots of witty one-liners, a lot of hard work most likely behind those musical numbers and it's a nice tribute to notable songs in contemporary music as well, hearing songs like "Titanium" in a different way. I would have liked to hear Paramore's "The Only Exception" also. Could Elizabeth do a column sometime about what makes for an attractive screenplay for her, one that she would like to produce like she did on this film? Thanks for highlighting Kay Cannon, the screenplay writer. -
I have seen all A.Kendrick's films more than once. From CAMP to whatever she on today.
Admittedly saw her first in Twilight, though I instantly vowed not to like that movie, that girl got me to watch the next three, just for her 5-minute or maybe 5-second appearance in each.
Accidentally saw Marc Pease on HBO. Didn't knew she was on Scott Pilgrim when I went out to see it, practically screamed when I saw her. The rest I searched the end of the world for. I even went to see "What to Expect..." when I saw her on the posters (Got no expectations for that movie though) Can't wait for her next big move. -
I'm in love with Anna Kendrick. Sigh...
Netflix has two of her movies available for streaming and 'Camp' is one of them! Yay! The other is 'Elsewhere' so I'm watching them both. Go Anna!! -
Anna Kendrick is an amazing actress. Seen all but two of her movies. Not too sre where to find the two that I haven't seen lol. -
