Unlike my husband, many guys think they are kings of the grill. In my house, I crush the grilling and this Memorial Day is no different. Of course, I'm inspired by these badass female chefs who turn up the heat in the kitchen every day, overseeing the menus at some of the country’s hottest restaurants. Though men still out number women in executive roles within the restaurant industry, these rock star chefs are giving the boys a run for their money.

Barbara Lynch
The South Boston native is from my home state and she owns nine of the most buzzed about spots in Massachusetts.
INSPIRING LADY ELDERS PT. 1: Diane Keaton

Susan Feniger
Feniger isn’t afraid to experiment with food at her popular Street restaurants in L.A., incorporating cooking styles and techniques from countries all over the world.

Gabrielle Hamilton
New Yorkers are some of the toughest food critics around, but Hamilton’s Prune restaurant is a hot ticket in the East Village.
Do you know of any great female chefs? Tell me about them in the comments below!

I love to cook! I specialize in comfort food made healthy. It is so empowering to see these successful women. My favorite chef is Giada De Laurentiis :)

Me! I'm a great female chef. I can make toast, pancakes, omelette, a select few noodle and pasta dishes, and a handful of cakes. My specialty is pre-mixed things and 2 minute noodles. ;)
