I’m excited to tell you all that I’m “preggo” with my second little one and due at the beginning of December. I’m about six months along in this photo and I’m having a boy!
“Pregnancy is Magical.” And weird. And silly. And tiring. Here’s what it’s like to be pregnant, straight from the keyboard of a very preggo lady.
I smell pregnant ladies. Since I’ve become pregnant, I’ve had a heightened sense of smell – especially to perfumes and food. For some reason, I’m also more aware of other pregnant woman—I can scope them out like it’s a sixth sense! It’s like your part of the same club. You know how people that drive Jeeps always wave to each other? When you're pregnant and come across another pregnant woman, the questions start immediately. How are you feeling? How far along are you? Are you tired ALL THE TIME, like me?! How fat are your feet now?
Gimme Chowder. A lot of people say pregnant women have weird cravings and I’m no exception. I’m craving chowder. Huh?! Yeah, chowder. My baby must already be a true Bostonian. Also, wedge salads and iced tea. …he is also a southerner?
Workin out that bump. I’m still going to the gym and taking classes four days a week (doctor approved) but I feel like the turtle in those old Bugs Bunny cartoons… SLOW. I have to modify a lot of the exercises to make them easier, but everything feels tough. Dancing is a joke. I take Zumba once a week and every time the teacher says to lead with your hips, I lead with my belly. Ha! Still, it feels good to keep at it.
Ugh. I get winded just climbing the stairs, let alone working out. Also, I can’t stand for longer than an hour or my feet throb.
Mandatory Reading. My “bible” for getting through the newborn stage: On Becoming Baby Wise. I swear by this book. My first baby was sleeping through the night by 2 1/2 months. Heaven! I also just read a funny book Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay. Laughed. My. Ass. Off.
I love tummy rubs. I used Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter during my first pregnancy and, I can't believe it, but it worked! I practically bathe myself in it now.
Chocoholic. Weird, but my baby really loves chocolate.
Where to find homemade "oreo" cookies (or a cook book to make them)
For some fun…
Not ALL pregnant women are smug, but I've certainly come across quite a few women who are consumed by pregnancy and believe it's all rainbows and butterflies. I like to think that I'm not one of them. No, no. I've never uttered a pregnancy cliché in my life! Not me!
I miss wine : (. That is all.
Are there any pregnancy myths that I can help clear up?

Congratulations and best of luck to you! When my ex was pregnant with our daughter our four cats could tell almost immediately. The girl cats were protective and the boy cats were nervous. It was funny. As was that video. Hysterical! Thank you! -

Aww, congrats! Interesting that you can scope out other pregnant ladies. I hope that doesn't fail you and lead to any awkward "how far along are you?" "...I'm not pregnant" moments! :)
