The 66th annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France just ended. They screened 80 movies total and here are a few that I'd pay good money to see:

Amour
A film about an elderly couple coping with life after the wife suffers a stroke - so its not the happiest movie but - it won the Palme d’Or during the festival, which is Cannes’ top prize. It's supposed to be touching, lovely, and an Oscar contender.
Moonrise Kingdom
Wes Anderson’s whimsical tale of two young kids who run away into the woods of New England during the 1960s packs an all-star cast that includes Tilda Swinton, Ed Norton and Bruce Willis. I am a huge Wes fan, aren't you?

The Hunt
Mads Mikkelsen’s role - this year's Fassbender?? - as a kindergarten teacher whose life is ruined once he is accused of child abuse snagged the Danish actor the prize for “Best Performance By An Actor” during the festival.
Killing Them Softly
Brad Pitt. Looking hot. Holding guns. And its about the financial crisis too! Why the heck not?
No
Gael Garcia Bernal. Looking hot. Set in the 80s. They speak Chilean! Wait.... Whatevs. To make the film feel authentic, it was shot to look like a 1988 VHS movie...and apparently manages to be funny and serious at the same time.
Rust & Bone
My French girl crush Marion Cotillard gets messed up but falls in love in a role that might bring her another Oscar nom. Super French, super subtitled.
On The Road
I just want K Stew to work, you know? And I love this director Walter Salles and Jack Kerouac's not bad inspiration, right?
Which of these Cannes faves do you want to see?

Moonrise Kingdom is a definite yes. On the Road is one I'll probably listen to a few reviews of to see if they capture the stream of consciousness style of Kerouac's writing.
I really enjoy French film so Rust and Bone is likely and if I'm in the right mood, Amour. -
And why Michael Fassbender wasn't nominated to Academy Awards for an outstanding performance? The best of the year, for me, and he was not nominated... -
Great selection. Amour it will be my first choice because Michael Haneke is a master. See 'The White Ribbon', great film that it's a movie against all the extremisms and a great depiction of the human being. -
Like this post giving us an inside look! So nice that we are friends! It's hard to choose which I want to see...probably all of them eventually, whether in the theater or through Red Box. -
All of them look fantastic... but I really want to see On The Road, Rust & Bone, and Moonrise Kingdom. And I have to say Kristen Stewart is a fabulous actress when it comes to her indie films. I mean Cake Eaters, Welcome to the Rileys, The Yellow Handkerchief. She's amazing in those films. And this one looks great for her as well. Thank god Snow White finally showed her acting ability to the masses.
Oh and Killing Them Softly looks great as well. Brad Pitt usually produces the best movies. -
Come join me at the Telluride Film Fest over Labor Day. My bet is that Amour, Rust and Bone, The Hunt and No all play there...and On the Road and Killing Them Softly are also possible. -
@ShannonHEARTSMiri you took the words right out of my mouth!
congrats on the win at the MTV movie awards! -
Moonrise Kingdom looks great-I like watching anything that has me favorite star Bill Murray in it! -
Noooooo!!! Marion Cotillard is MY French girl crush! I've been writing her name on my trapper keeper since "A Very Long Engagement." She is a BEAST. A beautiful, crush-worthy beast of an actress. I guess, maybe, perhaps, peut-etre, we can kinda share her or something.
But so glad you like her.
And yes to Wes Anderson and his every whimsy. K Stew will be fine-- I think she's got it in her to break out, but I like that at last night's awards she was very adamant about her love for Twilight. She's dedicated to whatever she does; that's a good sign. She also trades Christian Louboutins for Converse-- another good sign, methinks. Thanks for the post, you Best Transformation Winner you.
