Most of the time, it’s considered rude to go through a lady’s purse, but today I’m giving you a pass. I’m sharing a peek of what was in my purse for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. It was a small clutch so I only had room for the essentials…
- My ID
- My iPhone (you don’t see it, because it’s taking the photo)
- A few sticks of Orbit gum to keep my breath fresh
- My lipstick, Chanel Rouge Coco in 31 Cambon, so I can reapply.
- Tatcha blotting papers to keep my makeup looking fresh throughout the night
What are the five essentials you don’t leave home without?
If you can list less than five in the comments, color me impressed.

Like everyone else, I am loving the clutch.
My essentials would be:
-my phone
-ID
-keys
-money
-hair tie -
My essentials include keys, a little iPhone protective wallet into which I put my debit card, license and some cash. Then a small tube of sunscreen [I live in south Florida!] and a tissue. That's all I really truly need. I put these into little sling bags I wear across my chest. My small bags are small enough to put into a bike bag, a car glove box, shopping tote, under the car seat or even into a jacket pocket. Some are made from sporty nylon, glazed heavy cotton, some handwoven fabric, some knit or crocheted, but never leather as I'm a vegetarian.
But if I carry a big statement purse, there's everything in it but the kitchen sink. -

That clutch is gorgeous!
My essentials are my phone, keys, wallet (or, the contents of my wallet if I'm taking a small bag, ie. ID, money, credit/debit card) and lipbalm. Depending on where I'm going I might also bring my lipstick, eyeliner, mascara & powder for make up touch ups. Also chewing gum, tissues and a hair tie... Wow that sounds like a lot but it's not really. -

My wallet, keys, emergency medicine, pens, small change. If I remember then my Android phone. -
What bag? Just pockets! My wallet, my cell phone, my keys. Or my license, a credit card, cell phone and keys.
Love the skull clasp. You're such a badass! -
That is a stunning clutch! If you ever get sick of it, I can give it a good home...:)
My five essentials are: ID, $20 cash, a good pen and small notebook, a phone, and lipstick. -
Oh, I like the skull of the bag, it's beautiful and it seems like if it the bag has life¡¡ :) -
These are not my "essentials", these are literally EVERYTHING I carry when I leave the house:
Front left pocket: phone
Front right pocket: keys, folding pen (3" long, won't tear pocket!)
Back left pocket: comb
Back right pocket: wallet (includes ID, cards, money, etc.)
I'm amazed that no one before me -- including Elizabeth -- listed a hairbrush or comb! No one else ever has to fix their hair?? -
Hand sanitizer, an extra car key (you never know!), to-go make up brush, Dior glow balm, and Burt's Bees. -
I'm really interested in those 'Tatcha blotting papers'... My eye make-up always seems to be everywhere at the end of the night ;)
Anyways, I always bring My phone, ID, handcream (Can't live without that), lip cream (same thing... addiction) and my wallet obviously. -
1. ID - in case something happens and people need to know who I am
2. Money/Debit card - never know when you might see something you HAVE to buy
3. iPhone - that's just a given
No need for the make-up stuff because I don't wear any... natural is beautiful, and gum can be borrowed from friends. -
