My amazing make-up wizard Fiona Stiles shares how to get my look from the premiere of Pitch Perfect in Los Angeles. Please try this at home and share your results with me in the comments! Xx EB
Elizabeth wanted a vey sexy look for the premiere of Pitch Perfect so we amped up the drama on the eyes and focused on great, luminous skin paired with neutral lips.
A lot of times when you think strong eye, you think black or grey. But those colors can be really severe and I still wanted there to be a warmth about the look. So I went with a deep shimmery cranberry color on the upper lid and under the lower lashes, and smoked out so the lines so they were soft. Instead of using black shadow for depth I used a really deep matte purple. It gave the drama I was looking for, but wasn't harsh looking. Plus the purple and cranberry colors made Elizabeth's blue eyes look even more intense and sparkly.
1. Foundation: Illamasqua Skin Base #6.5 / 2. Concealer: YSL Touche Eclat #3 / 3. Powder: Chanel Poudre Universelle #30 / 4. Blush: NARS "Lustre" / 5. Eyeshadow: MAC "Cranberry" and "Sketch" / 6. More Eyeshadow: YSL Pure Chromatics #19 / 7. Eyeliner: Prescriptives Softlining Pencil in "Jet" / 8. Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous in "Carbon Black" / 9. Brow Pencil: Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Medium Ash" / 10. Lips: NARS Velvet Gloss Pencil in "Hopi"
Sometimes black liner on the waterline can really close up the eye, so I only lined the outer 1/3 of the inside of the eye. It made it feel sexier without making the eyes look small. Then I did a ton of mascara on the top and bottom, as well as using lots and lots of individual lashes for a super flirty, sexy eye.
Here are some easy make-up looks for fall!
Right now, Elizabeth's eyebrows are bleached to white for her role as Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games so I had to draw them back in, otherwise they would be invisible! I used a medium ash color and made the shape very strong and defined. But because the color was light it didn't look overdone. And the light brow made her eyes stand out even more. I finished off the look with a light bronze cheek and a warm nude gloss pencil. I love the gloss pencils from NARS because they have more staying power than a regular gloss and have more substance as well.
Think you can rock Elizabeth’s sexy Pitch Perfect look?

Well you have something to look forward to Phoebe. You'll definitely like it, probably love it. It's a total 'girl power' movie. I saw it last night and it's quite funny. Elizabeth isn't in it too much, but she is being her usual bawdy self in her character 'Gail'. Anna Kendrick (wonderful actress and serious eye candy) and Rebel Wilson (great comic timing) really make the movie go. -
I think in some of the shots in THG Elizabeth/Effie has eyeshadow that kind of covers her eyebrows... but they're definitely bleached!
No, I haven't. It's not out until December here. :( -
You're right Phoebe. I looked at another HG photograph taken from farther away and they looked grey, but that was probably a shadow, now that I see the photo you posted.
Have you seen Pitch Perfect yet? -
They're white in The Hunger Games!

Her eyebrows are beached white?! The stuff actors have to go through is so strange. But I'd love to see a picture of her with white eyebrows. -

I love this look! I'll have to try it sometime.
By the way, great job with the eyebrows! I didn't even notice until you mentioned it. -
The look is fantastic. The hairstyle is similar to that of the "Met Ball 2010" in NYC, but without doubt the most beautiful eyes and face are brighter. Congratulations to you and Fiona -
