My school recently did an art project called Noirscapes, studying the colors and nighttime images of Los Angeles. So I was excited when I stumbled across this cool time-lapse video of LA called "Nightfall." It was filmed all over the city and really captures the transition of LA from day to night.
This is what the cinematographer/director/editor Colin Rich had to say:
"Nightfall in particular is my favorite time to shoot time lapse. Capturing the transition from day to night while looking back at the city as the purple shadow of Earth envelopes the eastern skyline and the warm distant twinkling halogen lights spark to life and give the fading sun a run for her money - this will never grow old or boring to me…I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it."

I believe I did, Colin!
If you liked it, watch another time-lapse video that EB posted on Aurora glowing on Earth.
Have you seen any awesome time-lapse videos lately?
Share them in the comments with me so I can check them out!

I love time lapse videos. Some of my favorite ones are by Tony Leech. This is his latest time lapse video but he's got some really awesome stuff on his profile http://vimeo.com/36112948 -
This isn't a time-lapse video, but I find this one of flocks of birds to be just as visually striking... http://vimeo.com/31158841 -

That's pretty cool. I haven't seen any in awhile, but it sort of reminds me of the Spice Girls 2 become 1 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA5jsa1lR9c
