As promised, this entire week is devoted to EXCLUSIVE awesome stuff from the new movie Pitch Perfect. First up, this really fun interview that I did with cast members Ester Dean and Hana Mae Lee.
I got to interview these awesome ladies as a “member of the press.” That’s right, Elizabeth Banks from Elizabethbanks.com. We talk about the most misbehaved cast member, Ester getting nom’d for a Grammy, and why Pitch Perfect is better than Home Alone:
Pitch Perfect is out everywhere Friday, October 5th (and out now in select cities).

Movie of the decade... hmmm. That's a tough one. I'm limiting myself to the past ten years 10/2002 to the present. It seems like if you're going to declare something 'movie of the decade' it should be a really big movie. But the really big movies - at least the ones that are good and actually have acting in them - have been series, like 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Harry Potter', vs. say 'Transformers', 'Iron Man', 'Hell Boy', 'The Avengers', etc. which are all NAR action flicks. So with that thought in mind I'm going to have to skip giving movie of the decade to a blockbuster. and go with a smaller film.
Thus: 'The Lives of Others', 'The Prestige', 'Pan's Labyrinth', 'Surrogates', 'The King's Speech'.
It's impossible I think to declare any film 'The Film of the Decade'. Someone might say 'Star Wars' for the 1970's, but then what about 'The Godfather', 'Apocalypse Now', 'Alien', 'All That Jazz'? It's the same with any ten year stretch of time. You pick the 'Movie of the Decade' and I'll give you several more equally deserving of the title. -
Hana Mae really caught my eye. (or perhaps 'ear' would be a better way to put it) Her almost imperceptibly quiet delivery of several very dry, but very funny lines, "You guys want to see a dead body?" was delightful. Unfortunately I missed one or two because they were so quiet that in a crowded theater they can be hard to pick out. -
I LOVED "Pitch Perfect" I have seen it TWICE so far and can't wait to see it again.
My movie of the decade? Besides "Pitch Perfect" would have to be "Almost Famous" -
This is great! You should interview people more often, haha. Ester getting her Grammy nom on set sounds amazing. Congrats to her!
I'm so psyched to see this film!
