#HungerGames: Lynn Cohen Is Mags!
It’s official! Lionsgate has announced that Lynn Cohen will play the role of Finnick’s mentor Mags in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. As you all know well, she is the eighty-year-old victor from District 4, same as Finnick. And I don’t want to throw out any spoilers, but her character is part of some pretty emotional stuff in Catching Fire.
If you don’t already recognize her, she’s was in Stephen Speilberg’s Munich, Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, NY, and both Sex and The City films. Remember, she found Miranda’s vibrator collection of that fantasticly hilarious episode of Sex & the City? She seems like a pretty rad lady and I’m excited to work with her. I know she’ll mentor Finnick like nobody’s business.

So far I am completely happy with all the casting for Catching Fire. I pictured Philip Seymour Hoffman when I was reading the book so I was very excited about that. And Amanda Plummer as Wiress? Inspired casting. If they get Tony Shalhoub for Beetee, that will be great as well. I'm really curious to see who they cast as Finnick. My friend and I have discussed this at length lol -
She is just how I imagined Mags to be so I'm really happy about that! I don't have anyone in mind for Beetee, but I already have my Boggs and Coin - even though we don't get them for another movie. -
I would really love to see Tony Shalhoub as Beetee. I imagined him in the role the whole time I was reading CF. -

I heard Tony Shaloub was in the running for Beetee, I LOVED Monk and so if he was cast, I think I might explode!
