It’s no secret that L.A. has some of the best Latin American food available stateside, and restaurants like Picca definitely help to keep it that way.

Grubbing at Picca is like taking a trip to South America. Their menu is loaded with authentic family-style Peruvian bites that include causa (a yellow mashed potato, lime and avocado dish) nine different ways and anticucho (grilled, skewered meats like the black cod above) ten different ways.

Don’t overlook the drink menu. Urbandaddy called this spot a “Mecca of Pisco Sours” and I could not have said it better myself. This delish Peruvian cocktail is a mix of Pisco (grape brandy produced in Chile and Peru) with lime juice, syrup, ice, egg white, and Angostura bitters. Picca has a rhubarb-infused version that’s to die for. Don’t be alarmed if you find the bar sans vodka and scotch—they’re all-Peruvian to the max.
If you want to try making one of these delish cocktails at home, try this recipe from mixologist Eben Freeman:
You’ll pretty much want to try everything off the menu since it all sounds, looks and tastes amazing. Go ahead—stuff your face. You have my permission.
