    Happy Hour: Pirate Slave

Sep 28, 2012 at 6:14am by Elizabeth Banks

I love the idea of this cocktail. Sexy, kinda? If you’re feeling enslaved to the standard choices at the bar, try this one on for size…

    Pirate Slave

    The What:
    • 2 oz. Rhum Agricole
    • 3/4 oz. Punt e Mes
    • 1/2 oz. Campari
    • 1 tsp. cane syrup
    • 1 dash Regans’ orange bitters
    • 1 dash Fee Bros. orange bitters
    • Cracked ice
    • Large ice cube
    • Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
    • Glass: double rocks
    • Garnish: flamed orange peel

Also, try this "I'll Have Another" Mint Julep

    The How:
Combine all ingredients and stir with cracked ice. Strain over one large ice cube into a double rocks glass and garnish.

I tried this one out tonight for my drink of the week. Pretty good. More complex flavor than expected, though I had to substitute a few ingredients.

I've got a photo of it here: http://elizabethbanks.com/user/photo/2312769/pirate-slave

and I did a write up on the drink here: http://www.squirrelfarts.com/2012/09/28/rule-37-pirate-slave/

      Thanks for the drink idea!
