My question is simple: Where did the inspiration for this book come from? It's such a fascinating story!

I've just renewed my digital library loan for the third time which means we must be nearing the 6 week point. I am a third done and now fully engrossed in the book (which means there will limited parenting the next few days as I plow through the rest). The book had a slow start for me but now as Dodd and Martha are getting further pulled into Hitler's Germany I can't seem to want to put it down. I am continually amazed by the multiple instances of creating excuses for the behaviors of the SS/SA and the hope that things really are not that bad. Mr. Larson has done an excellent job of portraying the lives of the Dodd family. Now, back to the Tiergarten...

I admit I've been slacking on the last 3 book clubs, but my 4 months of Summer break are about to begin and I plan on reading this one!

This is my first book club. YEAH DIGITAL AGE! Im a teen and book clubs are sooo rare in my age group(And country) . But I think investing in literature is important. I'm trying to read like a lot of books cuz' my second semester is about to start and I'm a PT student. So I won't have enough time to read for my enjoyment. I hope I can keep up with this book club ;)

Do I sound like a complete nerd when I say I've been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next book to read and I'm excited to finally know? Yes? Ok cool. I've added this to my already long list of books to read but this one gets priority so I can finish in time for the discussion.
