Another great post from our fashion blogger Alissa. Love the lips! Xx EB

Roses are red, violets are blue, you don’t have to wear red, choose another hue!
With everything coming up red lately (lipstick, purses, and Taylor Swift’s new album), it’s time to let “the color of the season” go. Now that might seem a little odd since December is notoriously filled with red because of Christmas. Imagine what Santa might look like if his suit was blue!
December is also time for many holiday parties that require getting dressed up a little more than your usual business casual. It’s time of year to bust out the overly glittery dresses and bold makeup that you probably can’t get away with any other time.
For these parties, many of you may be trying out the classic red lip. It’s gorgeous, it’s classic and in definitely in right now. However, I challenge you to try a new color of the season, dark plum and berry! Now, before you all go running and screaming with your arms flailing above your heads, listen up! The purple undertones in berry and plum are flattering on most skin tones. It’s so universally flattering unlike red where you have to pour over where it’s blue-based, orange-based or whatever for your skin tone.
Wearing it is easy too because you don’t have to be a master of eye shadow because with a bold lip, you’ve got to keep the eyes simple. I just used a shimmery eye shadow close to my skintone (I’m so pale, I’m almost translucent is a hard share to find).
Case in point:

Have you ever tried berry lips?
Think you’ll give them a shot this holiday season?
Gimme a yea or nay in the comments.

Yeah Red is a overused used color in this time of year. I mean Its on your decorations, your furniture, etc... You don't want it on your lips. I think having bright lips are really in(you really gotta compete with the tiny light bulbs) -

I love dramatic eyes. I do it a lot too...this is different for me and I actually really love it - so I had to share! -
If I'm not simply rocking the lip balm thing. I almost always reach for a berry hued lip stain. The problem is, I can't live without eyeliner so I generally do a dramatic eye in either blacks, browns or plums with a neutral lip, or way over do the makeup. ;-) As a pale brunette with brown eyes, plums are ALWAYS flattering. Love it.
