Meet guest blogger and friend Nina who, as you can tell from her photo here, has impeccable style and did not buy this hat because fascinators should be more colorful than white.
Nina is a goddess of all things hip in art, architecture, and design. She will be guest blogging about this shiz from here on out. Because she is a young, single architect and I am not as cool as her. Although we are both fans of The Beastie Boys, which is why she decided her first blog would be about Mike D curating a show at MOCA here in LA. We're going to try to see it and you should too.
Enjoy! And thanks Nina!

FROM NINA:
The second half of the Transmission LA: AV CLUB at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA downtown, a 17-day exhibition curated by Beastie Boy Mike D, ends this weekend and it is not to be missed.
Following last year's Transmission Berlin, the show features performances and installations within an inter-disciplinary platform, including artists, musicians, designers, filmmakers, and chefs, displaying how these different fields compliment and help each other.
Highlights of the exhibit include Chef Roy Choi of the famed Kogi BBQ truck, and the first world-wide unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupé.
When you're done, take a stroll through Little Tokyo, and pop in for some of the best sushi or ramen in LA. Try Komasa or Sushi-Gen for sushi (jury’s still out), or Daikokuya for noodles (jury says yea).
Some shows require tickets, check out these links for more info:

This week I will be hitting the Geffen on Sunday to see 'Good People', then on to a West Side Screening of 'Melancholia' by Lars von Trier. Tuesday it's going to be Vibrato in Bel Aire to catch my new friend jazz paianist Misha Piatigorsky and his group 'Sketchy Dog'. Then my friends and I will be culminating the week Saturday by tearing down the 'Wall' w Roger Waters. -
Fantastic! Looking forward to more posts from Nina! As a fellow lady architect, I can attest to the innate cool-factor that Nina would naturally possess! You go girl! -
last art museum went to was LACMA to see John Cusaak's 'Poe' couple weeks ago. His commentary after the film was interesting and he turns out to be a very intelligent dude with a very wide range of culturual references. You should do a movie with him. I'm pretty sure you two would pair up very nicely.
